Club Facilities & History Guilford Racquet & Swim Club has six indoor courts (Deco Turf, resurfaced in 2010), six outdoor courts (Nova Cushion, resurfaced in 2008), playroom, pro shop, outdoor adult and baby pools, an expansive playground, including backboard and basketball net, and a Summer snack bar.
Club History Guilford Racquet & Swim Club was built in 1973. In 1977, Ron and Susan Netter purchased the indoor club and added the outdoor courts, pools and snack bar in 1978, thus transforming the facility into a year round club suitable for all ages. In 1997, a beautiful playground was designed and installed at the club and is greatly enjoyed for much of the year. In 2008, the outdoor courts were re-surfaced with Nova Cushion ~ far softer than hard courts. Susan Netter managed the club since 1975 and has assembled a great staff, all of whom have contributed to the club's success. Susan and Ron's daughter, Sarah Boone, grew up at the club and began full-time work there in 2003. She has now taken over club management. Many of the staff members have been a part of the club for more than twenty years. It is a pleasure to welcome back the same members year after year; many members have played here for over 25 years.
