Junior Tennis Team - Summer 2008

Summer Tennis Team a great opportunity or player who are starting or developing their competitive tennis abilities. Players will gain valuable experience on the court while competing against other area clubs. Players will practice twice a week and half one match a week. ALL PLAYERS ON THE TEAM MUST BE ABLE TO SERVE, KEEP SCORE HAVE BASIC SKILLS FOR MATCH PLAY.

Practice Days: Monday and Wednesday, 3:30-5 pm

First Day of Practice: Monday June 23

Last Day of Practice: August 14, 3:30-5:30 pm - tournament day (New Date!)

Match Days: Friday afternoons, usually 1:30-3:30 pm, schedule below

First Match - Friday, June 27th
Cost includes team t-shirt & pizza party

Price: $90.00

Player’s Club or Total Club Members, or players participating in two or more weeks of regular junior camp or one week of full day camp

$180.00

Non Summer members or players who do not meet above criteria.

Match Schedule – 2008

If you cannot attend a match, please let the coaches know in advance so they can plan accordingly. All home matches are planned for outside play only unless indicated otherwise. For away matches, if any parents are available to drive, it would be greatly appreciated if you could help bus kids to the site. If you can drive to an upcoming match, please try to tell coaches ahead of time. For away matches, the team will meet at the Guilford Racquet & Swim Club approximately 40 minutes before the scheduled start time (in most cases, 12:50).

Several other matches may be added. You will be made aware of this ahead of time. Please see Jerry or Jen with any questions. Note: The last week of tennis team will be the week of August 11-14. The club championships and end of season extravaganza will take place on Thursday, August 14^th at 3:30 pm.

North from GRSC on Rt 77. Turn left on Flat Meadow Rd. Turn right on Long Meadow Rd. Slight left at New England Boundary Road.

I95 to Exit 61. Turn right and go to Rte. 1 and turn right onto Rte 1. Go to first light and turn left. The Club tennis courts will be about 3/4 mile on the left.

Madison Racquet Club 203-245-9444

I95 to Exit 61. Turn right onto Rte 79. At the 2nd light, turn left onto Bradley Road. At the end of Bradley Road, turn left onto Wall Street and curve right onto Railroad Ave.. Continue straight through the first intersection. Club will be @ 100 yards on the right

Pine Orchard Yacht & Country Club 203-488-6380

I-95 South, Exit 56. Left off the exit, left onto Leetes Island Road. After highway, take the 1st right onto Gould Lane. Follow over the railroad tracks to a stop sign. Go straight onto Featherbed Lane. Follow to the end, turn left onto Damascus, @ 1/4 mile at the fork, bear right and go over the railroad tracks, under railroad trestle. At the next fork, bear left and follow around to the Club. Parking is in the back behind the courts.
